Yvonne Craig, TV's Batgirl, Is Dead at 78


Batgirl, whose baby are you? You were mine -- and every other gay boy in America who needed someone to idolize. The way you moved, the way you rode your motorcycle, the way you handled bad guys and the Dewey Decimal System with equal adeptness. 


I wrote about you HERE and HERE, but all I can add is that your grace (you were a dancer, and it showed), strength and beauty were a true pleasure. If the point of life is to leave a little mark and make the world a better place, you succeeded in spades.

    i am so surprised at how many gay men have blogged / tweeted / FB'd about Batgirl. Growing up, I thought I was the only one. Dan Savage IS right: it DOES get better!
