If they don't have an open relationship (which is doubtful), if I were Anderson, I'd have all of Ben's possessions boxed and waiting on the sidewalk in front of the firehouse home.
Anderson understands that even a butch man-thing like Ben needs to get topped every now and then, and easier to let some else help out with the tough jobs.
