Susanna
Here's one from the first album. I had recently moved to L.A. when this came out and didn't have cable for a couple years. Maybe that's why I'm just now seeing this "Unconditional Love" video for the first time tonight. The second one is her live cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" -- what a beauty!
This was great news, indeed, and completely unexpected for a number of reasons. For one, the Bangles just had a new album out less than six months ago. But it's even more surprising seeing as, Susanna has had not one, but two solo albums that never saw the light of day before -- the original sophomore LP known to megafans as "The Wallace Album," plus a batch of songs from around 2000 that was put on the back burner when the Bangles reunited for "Doll Revolution." Fortunately, the only song title I recognize (and, of course, already have) is "November Sun," so this truly a new album. The fact that Starbucks has it yet she doesn't seen ti gave an actual means of distribution is disconcerting. But something tells me this one has a better chance than the other two "lost" albums of coming out --for those keeping score at home, that's two released and two unreleased, not counting the new one -- and hooray for that!!!!
No one ever mentions that Cyndi Lauper came out w "Unconditional Love" almost a year earlier. Lauper actually pulls it off better.
ReplyDeleteI heard "Picture Me" at Starbucks yesterday and asked someone there if they had an actual CD of hers. He went in the back and came out with an Andrew Bird CD. Go figure.
