If you were going to build a prototype of a movie that I would race out to see, "Blank City" is exactly what it would look like:
“It felt like our lives were movies,” says Debbie Harry in this ode to the gritty, no-rules ’70s downtown scene, filled with rare clips from No Wave films and interviews with Jim Jarmusch, John Waters, Steve Buscemi, Lydia Lunch, Thurston Moore, James Nares, and more. In a broke, crime-ridden NYC, underground filmmakers, experimental musicians and cutting-edge artists created the era’s most provocative work.
"Blank City" opens Wednesday, April 6, at the IFC Center. Learn more HERE.
Looks great. Would love to have been an adult and lived here then.
