Newly crowned U.S. Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro returned to a hero's welcome in his Argentine hometown of Tandil, a city of 120,000 in Buenos Aires province. Meanwhile, the man he defeated (some guy called Roger Federer) was fined $1,500 for using a profanity while arguing with the chair umpire during the final. (I have to say that I don't like being told to be quiet either, so it was probably money well-spent.)
