'Get a Hump for Me'

A thoughtful reader who saw my post about the double standard that exists between the depiction of gay and straight sexuality in society sent me this clip from "Paris Is Burning," where a man interviewed in the film sums it up way better than I ever could.

some strange sh1t out of that movie:

According to her drag mother Anji Xtravaganza, Venus Xtravaganza was found strangled and stuffed under the bed in a New York hotel in 1989. Her body was discovered by a stranger four days after her death.

and

When interview subject Dorian Corey died in 1993, a mummified corpse was discovered in a trunk in her apartment. The body, which had been there for at least 20 years, was identified as Robert Worley (aka Robert Wells).

I adored PIB. Hilarious, frightening & sad all at the same time. RuPauls stole alot of her "schtick" from that wonderful film.

My favorite line in the film... "Hurrah for you!" He-he!

PIB is one of the most amazing documentaries ever. My favorite line is from Dorian Corey, who waxes philosophical about modern times: "Now it's not what you can create, it's what you can acquire." So true.
