The outlook on gay rights has sure felt pretty hopeless lately (to me, at least) . So it sure feels reassuring to see something like THIS in today's New York Times. Congrats to all the happy couples up in Connecticut! And to the rest of my fellow Americans -- gay and straight -- who have been fighting diligently against hatred and stupidity in the other 48 states, I say thanks for being strong when I have felt so weak -- and for putting the sense of community in "gay community."

2 Down, 48 to Go!
