Reading List

If you're anything like me, finding time to read books gets harder each year. With a full-time job, a full-time boyfriend, friends, blogging -- OK, especially blogging -- there just don't seem to be enough hours in the day. (How does Jon Stewart do it?) As I mentioned last week, I reading "Look Me in the Eye" by John Elder Robison. Here are the books that I'm eager to read that are waiting in the bullpen:

"Boston Boys Club"
My pal Johnny Diaz's debut novel examines the lives and loves of three good friends in Boston who meet weekly at the local watering hole. (Johnny has a second novel coming out soon -- I may need to call Evelyn Wood!!!)

"You Can Run: Gay, Glam, and Gritty Travels in South America"

"Mississippi Sissy"
Kevin Sessums' memoir about growing up in the '60s and early '70s in Jackson, Miss.

"When You Were Me"
Robert Rodi ("Fag Hag") latest looks at the perils and pitfalls when two very different gay men swap lives. (Perhaps better-titled "Faggy Friday?")

"Selfish & Perverse"
Comedian Bob Smith's tale of gay romance and salmon fishing in Alaska.

And coming out in two weeks, "Out of Sync," Lance Bass' memoir about growing up gay in a Southern Baptist household -- and then in the world of boy bands.
