ReplyDeleteNOT even a week into his new gig at "The Insider," former CNN Headline News anchor Thomas Roberts has brought yet another embarrassment to the syndicated Paramount TV show.
Yesterday, blogger Kenneth Walsh posted this question about the openly gay TV stud: "Which TV insider has been known to make his own headline news with these superhot nude pics of himself on the gay cruising site Manhunt.net?"
The photos on the site do not show the fellow's face, but the profile does feature pictures of a toe-tapper posing naked in various positions, including full frontal.
"The Insider," a tabloid show known best for its round-the-clock coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death and featuring carnival-like freaks during sweeps week, would not confirm or deny that the man in the photos is their new anchor.
A spokesperson for the show would not put us in touch with Roberts. When we asked about the risqué online profile, the rep told Page Six, "We have hired Thomas Roberts from CNN for his journalistic strengths and integrity. It is unfortunate that after four days on the job at 'The Insider,' he has become a victim of this malicious personal attack."
This isn't the first time the program has had to deal with a sex issue - host Pat O'Brien went into rehab in 2005 after voice mails were leaked onto the Internet of him trying to coax a woman into a threesome by saying "Let's have [bleep]ing sex and drugs and just go crazy."
But the Roberts imbroglio might help ratings, at least with viewers who take a wide stance on moral issues. The show comes in third, in a virtual tie with "Access Hollywood," behind "Entertainment Tonight" and "Inside Edition." One source told us, " 'The Insider' is often placed in sixth position - behind 'ET,' 'Access,' 'Inside Edition,' 'Extra' and 'E!' - in [red-carpet] interview lines."
"Insider" producers also misled viewers when they used shots of a tearful Christie Brinkley, who had been discussing her ill mother, to make it seem she was crying about her recent divorce. Brinkley's publicist, Howard Rubenstein, confirmed to Page Six that they were asked to change their misleading promos.

ReplyDeleteI was a neighbor of Thomas and his bf here in Atlanta until they recently moved. Those pictures ARE from their bedroom (they had a great house down the street from me). It's pretty much a known fact down here that Thomas a regular "power bottom" so the front is just a handle (so to speak). The funny thing is that his bf is even better looking and has a much better personality (he's the one that people fall in love with).

Besides, I ought to know that big, beautiful caboose: I was Tucker's roommate in prep school at St. Philomena's when it was still decidedly NOT coed! She may think she's a 22 yr old hot mess, but she's on national television and she's nearly 40. Her boyfriend and her agent need to do an intervention or something before this gets out of hand.
