The drawing is clever but people always ignore, or are unaware of, the fact that the original painting is of a farmer and his daughter, not his wife. So unless the artist was implying some incestuous undertones to their marriage, I think he is a bit off target.

ReplyDeleteThey even ran those ads in Conde Nasty around that time. I love the way Andre looks so uncomfortable on that couch, like he's about to fall off, go boom....
Couldn't be any weirder than the "ball chair" though.
I HATE Steffi and Andre - they're uber talented, attractive, fit, and ultra wealthy. Damn! ;-) Seriously, I actually like them - except for the fact that Steffi Graf ended Monica Seles' *BRILLIANT* career (Monica was never the same) by getting old and tired and inspiring a crazed fan to stab Monica! Monica Seles RULES.
ReplyDeleteI think Steffi traded in Peter Graf for Andre (look at all of the things he gets her to do that are so out of character), so I think it works.
