My editor brother in Phoenix (Terence) reports:
Thursday's Madonna concert got a good review in the Tribune; we''ll see about the Saturday show. Sounded like a nightmare to me; she requested and got only minimal AC, and it's been sticky (for Phoenix) as well as hot. She wants to look sweaty and therefore passionate, meaning she put on a good show, I guess. Or is she just anti-AC since moving to England? Our (gay) style editor isn't seeing Madonna this tour, but the (straight) arts editor is. As one of the designers summed it up: "Oh, the irony."
Hmmm...maybe Kabbalah frowns on AC? Whatever the reason, she sure is making a lot of people hot and sweaty - and pissed.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can tell you first-hand it was pretty steamy by the end of the show... since I celebrated your b-day appropriately enough by seeing Madge! It was pretty amazing... and dare I say worth the $$$.
ReplyDeleteI too was at the concert, and while the arena was hot, the concert was also HOT! Well worth the sweat and $$!
